About Group Management

The Group Management setup section enables you to create customised groups of individuals which exist alongside existing groups, such as forms, houses or subject sets. The custom groups can then be used for specific searches across the system and for various other tasks, such as emails and pupil events.

Groups include:

Pupil and Staff Custom Groups are identical in principle, but one is for groups of pupils only and one is for groups of staff only. These custom groups enable you to set up groups of pupils or staff for a specific event or set of events.

Note: The options you see depend upon the permissions set by your System Administrator.

Note: You are only able to create pupil custom groups if, within profile permissions, the Create Pupil Custom Group setting has been enabled within the Current Pupil module for your linked profile. Likewise, you are only able to create staff custom groups if the Create Staff Custom Group permission setting has been enabled within the Staff module for your linked profile.
